Who is doing the accessibility survey?
Experience, trained and tested individuals will inspect buildings and site for compliance with applicable state and federal construction-related accessibility standards. Please submit your request. Professional surveyor will identify the non-compliant issues and consult corrective recommendations.
What is CASp?
A Certified Access Specialist (CASp) is a professional who has passed an examination and has been certified by the State of California to have specialized knowledge of the applicability of state and federal construction-related accessibility standards.
Why hiring CASp?
When you have business open to the public, the business needs to provide equal access for all customers. A CASp will identify applicable standards based on the initial built year and history of alteration records. Site improvement will trigger accessibility requirements to meet with current codes. When the alteration does not require the building permit, the CASp can recommend feasible solutions to meet the access compliance. Or, it is recommended hiring an architect of record or engineer to work with the CASp to provide an access compliance evaluation and alteration of a facility. Only a CASp can provide services that offer "qualified defendant" status through the California Court cases in a construction-related accessibility lawsuit. Hiring a CASp may lessen a business or property owner's liability and provide certain legal benefits if an accessibility claim is filed against business owners or tenants.
